Master’s Degrees

The aim of the master's degree courses is for students to acquire advanced training of a specialised or multidisciplinary nature, either for academic or professional specialisation or to begin research work.

The academic offer of the USC includes 68 master's degrees: 11 in the area of knowledge of Arts and Humanities, 12 in the Science area, another 15 in the Health Science area, 23 in the Social Science and Law area and 10 in the Engineering and Architecture area. Most master's degrees last for one year or 60 ECTS.

In order to access official master's degree courses, it is necessary to hold an official Spanish university degree or one issued by a higher education institution belonging to another State in the European Higher Education Area that authorises access to master's degree courses.

Likewise, people with degrees from educational systems outside the European Higher Education Area will be able to gain access without the need for the equivalence of their degrees, after verification by the University that a level of training equivalent to the corresponding official Spanish university degrees is accredited and that they are entitled to access postgraduate studies in the country that issued the degree. Access by this route does not under any circumstances imply the equivalence of the previous degree held by the interested party or its recognition for purposes other than that of taking the master's degree courses.
