For this reason, the university has an Area of Valorisation, Transfer and Entrepreneurship (AVTE), under the Vice-Chancellor’s Office for Research and Innovation, which is responsible for the comprehensive management of the transfer process, from the identification of results with commercial potential to the negotiation of licensing agreements or the promotion of the creation of spin-off companies. AVTE promotes its own valorisation and transfer programmes and, on the other hand, collaborates with third parties to expand the opportunities for USC personnel to valorise and transfer the results of their research.
Another way of transferring knowledge to the market and, at the same time, obtaining resources for research is through R&D&I contracts with companies and administrations. The USC Office of Research and Technology (OIT) provides services to research staff in the negotiation of R&D&I service contracts.
