Work placements

External academic work placements are a training activity carried out by university students and supervised by the USC, which aim to allow them to apply and complement the knowledge acquired in their academic training.

External work placements allow the acquisition of skills that prepare students to carry out their professional activities, facilitate their employability and encourage their capacity for work initiative.

In order to carry out external work placements, you must be registered in the Degree Studies of the Faculty of Philology. In addition, you must have passed a minimum of 120 credits of the degree for which you are applying for a work placement.

  • The work placements carried out in companies and institutions have a training character in some of the linguistic, literary and/or cultural aspects undertaken in the degree studies of the Faculty of Philology of the USC.
  • The work placements, due to their training nature and because they are integrated into the degree's credit system, have the character of a degree subject, and therefore will not be remunerated.
  • The work placement will count as 6 ECTS (one subject) belonging to the optional module of the degree studies.
  • All work placements will last 150 hours. These 150 hours include the 10 hours for writing the report on the activities carried out during the work placement period, which the student will give to the professional tutor and the academic tutor and which, together with the professional tutor's report, will be taken into account when assessing the work placement period.
  • The timetable of the internship will be proposed by the host company or institution after hearing the candidate. Preferably in the afternoons.
