Mobility programme for students coming from universities in non-UE countries by virtue of bilateral agreements signed with their home institutions
If you are interested in joining the USC as an exchange student by virtue of a bilateral agreement for up to two semesters as part of your undergraduate degree programme, your University must have signed an agreement with us, and its International Office must nominate you as a candidate for the mobility.
E-mail: bilateral.exchange [at] usc.gal
The process will be entirely carried out online. Your home University will nominate the students via e-mail by the 15th of May for Autumn semester and the 15th of October for Spring semester, stating the following details of its candidates:
The nomination will include the following student data:
- Full name as it appears on passport or ID card
- Contact Email
- Degree of interest among our Bachelor's Degree offer
- Exchange Period ( 1st or 2nd semester)
Once we have registered their applications, candidates will receive an e-mail with the access codes to our online platform. They will be requested to follow the instructions stated here: https://www.usc.gal/en/services/area/international/student-mobility/bilateral-agreements-incoming-instructions-application
Requested Documents
- Learning agreement stating the subjects you intend to take at the USC according to our Undergraduate degree offer, as well as their equivalent courses back home (please use the Learning agreement Form in the documents section on the right column above). It is very important that you choose those courses taught in your exchange period (1SG for stays from Sept. to Jan. and 2SG for Jan. to May under the column with Period heading in every degree)
- Transcript of records, with the courses taken at your home University so far and their marks
- Cover letter explaining why you would like to study at the University of Santiago de Compostela
- Passport
The deadline for the online applications is the 31st of May for the fall semester and the 31st October for the spring semester. The documents will be then analysed and, if everything is correct, an online acceptance letter will be issued and you can start travel arrangements (i.e. applying for your visa).
Campus in two cities: Santiago de Compostela and Lugo
The University of Santiago de Compostela has Campus in two different cities: Santiago and Lugo and they offer different degrees, as mentioned here. You cannot take courses from both Campus and, since both cities are 100km apart from one another and not well communicated, you must live in the city where you will be studying.
Teaching language
All courses at USC are usually taught in Spanish and Galician
Language requirements
- B1 Level in Spanish (intermediate) for most degrees
