The programme aims to raise awareness and train USC students and researchers in the process of drawing up a business plan and to promote the creation of companies in the university community.
Through the programme, we support participants in the process of defining a business idea and assess their ability to turn it into a convincing business project, through a "teamwork" and "learning by doing" approach.
The ARGOS programme is an initiative of the Assessment, Transfer and Entrepreneurship Area of the USC and is supported by Banco Santander. It is organised around three key ideas:
- Teamwork, with complementary profiles that maximise performance and results.
- Business management knowledge provided by at least one member of the team.
- Access to the USC research results portfolio as a business plan option.
Teams must choose a research result (their own or from the USC portfolio) or present their own idea and develop a business plan.
Recipients
The following groups belonging to the USC can participate in the ARGOS
- Students in the last two years of undergraduate or graduate studies.
- Postgraduate, master's degree or PhD students.
- Graduates of the last four promotions.
- Collaborators or personnel integrated in research groups.
Programme structure

- Phase 0: personal interview and selection of participants until 27 October.
- Phase I: presentation of business ideas and team building, until 3 November.
- Phase II: Team building training session on 6 November.
- Phase III: Training and tutored development of the business plan until 15 December.
Prizes
Two prize categories are established:
- ARGOS SPIN for business projects arising from any of the research results generated in the USC.
- ARGOS ENXEÑO for business projects arising from business ideas contributed by participants in the programme.
One 3,000 euro prize will be awarded for each category.
