Lectures will consist of the explanation, by the teaching staff, using the blackboard and audiovisual media, of the contents of the subject reflected in the annual teaching guide. Board/seminars sessions are complementary activities that will be intercalated with the theoretical content of the program, and that can be taught by the teaching staff or by the students, under the supervision of the teaching staff. Both the expository classes and the board/seminars sessions will be held in the classroom in 50-minute sessions.
The laboratory practices (a session of 4 hours and two sessions of three hours) will serve to illustrate the theoretical contents of the subject and will be fundamentally oriented towards the student acquiring practical skills and experience. The clinical practices (two sessions of 2.5 hours) have as an objective the acquisition by the student of the skills inherent to clinical practice. The practical classes will be taught in the practical laboratory of the Pharmacology Department and in the Pharmacy Service of the Rof Codina Veterinary Hospital.
All student tasks (study, work, reading) will be guided by the teaching staff in the scheduled tutoring sessions (FF T). The tutoring sessions will be done in the Pharmacology Laboratory or in the professor office.
The student will be able to carry out tasks during the classes that will form part of their continuous evaluation. The deliveries of these tasks or questionnaires will be made in the classroom in person or using platforms recommended by the USC (virtual campus, Teams...). A voluntary task will be proposed to be submitted for assessment in the month of May, before the end of the expositive class period.
In the learning evaluation, all the work done by the student throughout the course, in the continuous evaluation and in the practical classes, will be taken into account, and the knowledge acquired will be assessed through a final exam.
Final rating:
15% Practical sessions (up to 3% each practical session) evaluated by their participation in the development of the session and through a task that the student delivers at the end of each session.
25% Continuous evaluation in which the active participation in the expository and interactive classes and the performance of voluntary tasks will be taken into account (see teaching methodology). Some of these tasks can be the object of oral defense.
60% multiple choice exam and/or short question and/or topic, in which the knowledge acquired in the subject will be assessed. In the qualification of the multiple choice and/or short question exams, a correction factor will be applied to eliminate randomly answers.
The exam can be in person or online through the virtual campus or through any communication platform provided by USC.
For cases of fraudulent completion of exercises or tests, the USC regulation “Normativa de avaliación do rendemento académico dos estudantes e de revisión de cualificacións” will apply.
It is necessary to obtain a minimum in each part to pass the subject. From the final grade (out of 10 points):
At least 3 points must be obtained in the exam
At least 1 point must be obtained in the practical sessions and in continuous evaluation
If the minimum qualification is not obtained, the final grade will be the maximum qualification obtained in one of the two parts.
In the extraordinary call, the exam can be made up, which will be carried out under the same conditions as in the ordinary call, and the continuous evaluation and the practical sessions qualifications will be preserved.
The score in the practical sessions will be conserved in the following academic years.
Following Instrucción Nº1/2017 from Secretaría Xeral, in this subject no exemption is applicable since attendance in person to all activities is necessary.
