• To provide students with the knowledge to understand the functioning of the organs and systems of mammals, especially of the human species, as well as their integrated functioning. Highlighting the mechanisms that control and regulate said operation to maintain homeostasis.

BLOCK I: PRINCIPLES OF PHYSIOLOGY. (1 hour)
Topic 1. Concept of Physiology. Homeostasis and control. Feedback systems. Brief review of the Biology of membranes.
BLOCK II: NERVOUS SYSTEM (11h)
Topic 2. Structure and function of the Nervous System. Electrical signals.

Unit 4. Sensory Physiology I: Sensory systems: Generalities. Cutaneous and deep sensitivity.

Expository classes: Type of master lesson that will consist of the development by the teacher of the fundamental aspects of the program and the interaction with the students to resolve the doubts that arise or that the teacher considers raising. The presentations and/or teaching material used will be left in the virtual classroom
Interactive classes (seminars):
In the seminars, topics and problems related to the topics of the program will be discussed and resolved. Generally, students must work through the seminar content beforehand. The seminars will be evaluated with quizzes and problems that will be delivered by physical or telematic means. Optional activity.
Group or personal tutoring:
They will be taught face-to-face or virtually, either synchronously (Teams) or asynchronously (e-mail, virtual classroom forum, etc.). Optional activity.
Exam: In-person written test that contains questions from the different contents taught in both expository and interactive classes. Mandatory activity.
The evaluation of the learning of contents and skills will be carried out through continuous evaluation tests and a final exam.
The final evaluation grade will be obtained from the sum of the grade achieved in the final exam (maximum 7 points) and the continuous evaluation (maximum 3 points).
Final exam (first and second chance):
• It will include all the content worked on in the expository classes and seminars on the subject.
• It will be a face-to-face writing test that may consist of multiple choice questions, short questions and problems.
• The maximum attainable score will be 7 points and it will be necessary to obtain a minimum of 4.0 points out of 10 possible points to be able to add the score obtained in the continuous evaluation to the grade achieved in the final exam. If the minimum is not reached in the final exam for the subject, it will be considered a failure and only the grade obtained in the final exam will be reflected in the minutes.
The assessment percentages for the exam and continuous evaluation will be the same in both opportunities. Students who do not pass the first opportunity will maintain the continuous evaluation qualification in the second opportunity.
The grades obtained in the continuous evaluation section will be saved for the July opportunity and also for the following courses. The same applies to repeaters who want to obtain these qualifications, they can request those from the previous courses if they had them. Repeaters must, in any case, take the exam.

Study and periodic review of the subject matter, using bibliographic material to understand and deepen the information obtained in class.
Clarification with teachers of possible doubts.
Students enrolled in this subject will have at their disposal, on the USC Virtual Campus, much of the material that teachers use in their classes to explain the different topics. In the same way, it will be the preferred way to transmit notices and other issues to students. In certain activities, English may be used as a support language.
The preferred channel of direct communication with the teaching staff will be through the institutional mail. By agreement, virtual sessions can be scheduled through MS-Teams.
