Summary
This Master’s Thesis analyzes urban duality in the Monterrey Metropolitan Area (MMA), understood as the structural coexistence of spaces highly integrated into metropolitan development alongside territories experiencing persistent disadvantages in poverty levels, access to services, and urban infrastructure. Although Monterrey is one of Mexico’s most dynamic and industrialized metropolitan regions, economic growth is not evenly distributed across its territory. The study aims to identify how this sociospatial duality is configured and which territorial factors (related to location, connectivity, and infrastructure provision) contribute to its persistence. A quantitative and spatial approach is adopted, based on official sub-municipal indicators, supported by thematic cartography and territorial analysis tools. Findings reveal a persistent center periphery pattern, in which proximity to the urban core does not necessarily guarantee improved socioeconomic conditions. The research contributes to the debate on the unequal production of urban space and provides empirical insights relevant for metropolitan public policy design aimed at reducing internal territorial disparities.

Summary
This Master’s Thesis analyses the economic impact of waste management in the Galician dairy industry, assessing the associated costs and the benefits derived from efficient management from a circular economy perspective. Through a mixed methodological approach, the study combines the financial analysis of representative companies in the sector during the 2019 and 2023 period with the examination of national and international experiences, incorporating a comparison with the Uruguayan cooperative model. The results show that efficient waste management can improve operating profitability, especially in a sector with tight margins, and also reduce regulatory risk, open access to green financing, and strengthen business competitiveness. The study concludes that environmental sustainability does not constitute an additional cost, but rather a strategic lever for the economic development of the Galician dairy sector.

Summary
This dissertation examines the implementation of the Digital Product Passport (DPP) in the textile sector within the broader transition towards a circular economy promoted by the European Union. Through the analysis of Regulation (EU) 2024/1781 on Ecodesign for Sustainable Products (ESPR) and the EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles, the study explores the legal configuration of the DPP as a tool for traceability, transparency and lifecycle control. The research addresses the regulatory foundations of the DPP, its environmental and internal market objectives, and the implications that its future implementation may entail for economic operators in the textile industry. Particular attention is given to its transversal nature, as it links ecodesign requirements, consumer information obligations, waste management and extended producer responsibility. The paper also assesses the technical, legal and organisational challenges related to its development, including data protection concerns, digital interoperability and information verification mechanisms. It concludes that the DPP has the potential to become a key instrument in strengthening circularity within the textile industry, provided that its practical implementation ensures legal certainty, proportionality and regulatory coherence at EU level.

Summary
Reconciling work, family, and personal life has become a key aspect of employee well-being and organizational sustainability. In this context, organizational support for work-life balance is fundamental, not only through formal policies but also through informal support from senior management and supervisors. The aim of this study is to analyze the influence of senior management and supervisor support on work-family conflict, work-family enrichment, and employees' affective commitment, as well as to examine the mediating role of supervisor support in the relationship between senior management support and affective commitment. The study is based on social exchange theory and the norm of reciprocity as its theoretical framework. The research adopts a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. The sample consists of 100 employees from public and private organizations, who completed a structured questionnaire with Likert-type scales. Reliability analysis, factor analysis, bivariate correlations, multiple regressions, and a mediation model were used to analyze the data. The results show that senior management support negatively influences work-family conflict and positively influences work-family enrichment and affective commitment. A positive relationship between senior management support and supervisor support was also confirmed. Supervisor support, in turn, is positively related to affective commitment and acts as a mediating variable. Overall, the findings demonstrate that informal organizational support is a strategic factor for improving work-life balance, strengthening affective commitment, and promoting employee well-being.

Summary
Live pop rock music is one of the main areas of cultural consumption in Galicia, justifying an analysis of attendee behavior in the context of the sector's recovery after the Covid 19 pandemic. Although the number of concerts has surpassed pre-pandemic levels, attendance has not grown at the same rate, highlighting the need to delve deeper into the factors influencing attendance decisions. This research adopts a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional, and descriptive-comparative design. Data were collected through a structured online questionnaire administered to a non-probability sample of 99 attendees of pop-rock concerts in Galicia, segmented into premium and non-premium consumers based on their attendance frequency and spending level. The analysis focuses on variables related to advertising, price perception, perceived economic capacity, the influence of social factors, and the impact of the rising cost of living. The results show statistically significant differences between both segments, revealing distinct consumption patterns with relevant implications for cultural and musical management in Galicia.

Summary
This master's thesis analyzes the development of the ESG (environmental, social, and governance) bond market within the context of sustainable finance, through a comparative analysis between Latin America and Europe. In response to the climate crisis and international sustainability commitments, ESG bonds have become key instruments for financing projects with positive environmental and social impact. The study examines the evolution of these bonds, classified into four main types: green bonds, social bonds, sustainable bonds, and sustainability-linked bonds (SLBs). This classification explains the divergences in terms of regulatory frameworks, degree of consolidation, and market behavior in both regions. The study demonstrates that European leadership is not solely due to greater financial capacity, but also to the existence of standardized regulatory frameworks, robust supervisory mechanisms, and high investor confidence. In contrast, Latin America shows dynamic but fragmented growth, conditioned by heterogeneous regulatory frameworks, institutional limitations, and greater credibility risks, particularly in the use of sustainability-linked bonds. The results suggest that the effective development of ESG markets depends primarily on institutional and regulatory quality, rather than the potential availability of sustainable projects.

Summary
The global energy transition is presented as a process aimed at decarbonization and climate change mitigation, driven primarily by nations of the Global North. However, the growing demand for strategic minerals such as gold, lithium, cobalt, and rare earth elements is reshaping extractive dynamics worldwide, deepening the dependence of peripheral economies specialized in the export of primary resources. In this context, this paper asks whether the so-called “green transition” represents a break with the historical logics of extractivism or whether it actually constitutes a continuity under new forms of economic dependence. From the perspective of ecological economics and dependency theory, the notion of “green colonialism” is analyzed as an interpretative framework to understand the structural asymmetries in the appropriation of natural resources in the Global South. The paper is structured at two levels: a conceptual analysis of extractivism, resource sovereignty, and global economic justice, and a case study focused on Burkina Faso, as a country that in recent years has been confronting neocolonial practices. In the case of Burkina Faso, the recent evolution of its mining sector is examined, particularly the production and export of gold, as well as political changes aimed at strengthening sovereignty over strategic resources. The objective is to understand whether the implemented reforms make it possible to modify the country’s peripheral insertion in the international division of labor, or whether a primary-export structure dependent on international prices persists. At the same time, the analysis of Latin America shows that, despite progressive cycles and various attempts to capture extractive rents, the region continues to display strong specialization in primary commodities with low levels of industrial transformation. The energy transition, far from reversing this trend, tends to reinforce the centrality of natural resources in peripheral economies. The conclusions argue that formal sovereignty over resources constitutes a fundamental condition for transforming the productive structure; however, policies of diversification, industrialization, and regional integration are also necessary. Otherwise, the energy transition risks reproducing historical patterns of dependence under a new technological paradigm. In this way, the paper offers a critical reflection on the disputes over economic sovereignty within the framework of the global energy transition.

Summary
This paper analyzes the digital divide associated with individuals' sociodemographic characteristics, focusing on their level of knowledge and the behaviors they develop in the digital environment. The research combines a literature review of the main concepts related to the digital divide with an empirical analysis based on primary data obtained through a survey of 120 people. The results of this analysis demonstrate the existence of significant relationships between digital knowledge, online behavior, and certain sociodemographic variables, primarily age. In this sense, the findings underscore the need to promote training strategies aimed at reducing digital inequalities through comprehensive digital education that goes beyond the mere instrumental use of technologies, contributing to the strengthening of users' personal autonomy and critical thinking.
