The Degree in Social Education offered by the University of Santiago de Compostela should train students for independent professional development of scientific knowledge and principles of action needed for the analysis, understanding, interpretation and educational intervention in various institutional and social contexts, contributing to the integral training of people and to improving their quality of life.
In this sense, it provides the skills, attitudes and basic abilities needed for the design, management, intervention and evaluation of resources, plans, programmes and projects of a social-educational nature that affects the daily lives of people, individually and collectively, with special emphasis on processes or realities that generate some kind of dependency, risk or social difficulty.
As education professionals, who share codes of ethics and conduct with other educational and social staff, they must respond to the needs and demands of citizens in problem areas affecting the coexistence and welfare of people, mainly with educational and social interventions within an institutional and social community scope.
The center has 14 classrooms for general use, with capacity between 50 and 120 seats, and 9 seminar rooms with 20 seats, a room for group dynamics, a computer room for teaching and a room with technology media and media research audiovisuals.
Among the areas designated for students, there is a computer room, that is free to use, equipped with 15 computers and tables for group work.
We can also highlight that wireless Internet connection is available everywhere in the Faculty.
In the south campus, the Library is located in the central module that the Faculties of Education and Psychology share. In the north campus, the library is on the ground floor of the Faculty, and has more than 80 reading stations.
