Access for foreign students

If you are a student from a member country of the European Union or a country with which there is an international agreement, you have access to a Spanish university as long as you meet the requirements for access to the university in your country of origin.

If you are a student from a member country of the European Union or a country with which there is an international agreement and if you have taken the access exam in your country of origin, you must apply to the UNED (National University of Distance Education) for a credential that you meet the university entrance requirements in your home country.

The credential is sufficient qualification for access, and this will be sorted according to the rating obtained on a maximum of 10 points.

Although it is not obligatory to carry out the University Entrance Exams, if you want to increase your chances of access, you can improve your average score by up to 4 points by taking the voluntary part of the exams. If you are a student of European Union education systems, you can do so through the National University of Distance Education (UNED). If you have a residence in Galicia, you can take the test through the Inter-University Commission of Galicia (CIUG).

There are high-demand degrees where the score can exceed 10 points. Students who wish to pre-register for degrees with a limited number of places are recommended to take the voluntary test.

We advise you to consult and take into account those subjects that have a greater weighting coefficient impact for the degrees you want to access.

If you have a degree, a qualification or you have studied in countries outside the European Union or in other States with which you there are no international agreements that are equivalent to the Spanish studies that give access to university (baccalaureate, vocational training technician...), you can access the official studies for a degree in the USC by validating your studies to the Spanish educational system.

The qualification after the validation is the score for access to the university studies.

The validation process of the studies can be carried out in the Ministry of Education, comissions of education of Spanish Embassies abroad. If the address you indicate on the application is in Galicia, you can perform the procedure through the Department of Education of the Xunta de Galicia.

The validation credential is a sufficient qualification for access to the university. This will be sorted according to the average score obtained on a maximum of 10 points.

Once the validation has been requested, you can apply for a place in the degrees that interest you with the accrediting receipt. The application for approval is conditional and has a value of 5 points. This score may be amended, when the validation is resolved, with the score recognised for you.
