French

The USC Centre for Modern Languages offers French courses to the university community and anyone interested over the age of 18. These courses are aligned with various levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

They last 50 hours (40 in-person instructional hours and 10 hours of guided independent work) and follow a semester-based format. Intensive summer courses are also available.

Completing French courses at the CLM entitles students to ECTS credit recognition in undergraduate studies.

These sessions are available at intermediate and advanced levels and require completing a placement test beforehand. Each registration includes 10 sessions of 60 minutes each, with a maximum of four participants. High-quality audio and video are essential for participation.

To certify your language skills in French at USC, there are several options:

• Passing a French course at the USC CLM that completes a level of the CEFR.
• Taking the French language proficiency tests offered by the USC CLM.
• Providing a recognized diploma or certificate from the institution you need to be accredited by.
• Taking external French exams for which the USC CLM is an examination center in Galicia.

In undergraduate studies at USC, credits can be recognized for transversal skills, such as language training activities.

Completing French courses at the CLM grants recognition of ECTS credits for undergraduate studies.
