Selection system
Participants will be required to justify their interest and need for single crystal structure determination. Students will need to attend practical classes with a laptop computer equipped with the Windows operating system (Windows 11 is recommended). Registration order.
Characterize and determine crystal structures (molecular and supramolecular structure), operate single crystal diffractometers, select suitable crystals for measurement, mount and place the samples to be structurally analyzed, use of the main crystallographic software packages and structural databases.
Evaluation
Students must pass a supervised on-site multiple-choice quiz (with identity verification) at the end of the course to confirm their acquired knowledge.
Tutoring
The instructional hours will be allocated in the following manner: 30% to theoretical lectures, 20% to instrumental laboratory sessions and 50% to applied case studies of single crystal resolution using specialized software. The working languages will be Galician and Spanish.
Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Observations
The course is divided into three modules: theoretical (first three days), instrumental (two days) and practical (five days).
