The international doctoral program in "Agriculture and Environment for Development" provides students with advanced methodological tools for both basic and applied research.

It is an interuniversity program, taught by specialists from different disciplines, who have extensive and recognized research activity. The participation of directors from different countries provides global training and allows access to technical, bibliographic and human resources.

The main objective is the training of researchers with a solid scientific base in aspects related to all aspects related to agriculture and the environment in the Ibero-American context.

The lines of research are:

  1. Management of natural resources and biodiversity
  2. Agricultural and forestry production and development
  3. Food and food safety
  4. Veterinary and zootechnics

El programa va dirigido, a cualquier persona que participe en una investigación en el contexto de Iberoamérica que implique trabajo o dirección de diferentes países.

Pueden solicitar su admisión las personas que cuentan con master en Ciencias Agrícolas (p.e., agronomía, forestales), Ciencias Ambientales (p.e. biología, ingenería del medioambiente), Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales o  Veterinaria.

Su principal foco es el de investigadores de centros de investigación privados o públicos, profesores de universidades de Iberoamérica, técnicos de ONG, etc, que ya cuentan con cierta experiencia en investigación.

El programa se oferta a través de una amplia red de universidades de diferentes países de lengua española y portuguesa, entre ellos Brasil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, España, Guatemala, Honduras, Mozambique, México, Panamá, Paraguay, Perú, Portugal.

1. Con carácter general, para el acceso a un programa oficial de doctorado será necesario estar en posesión de los títulos oficiales españoles de Grado, o equivalente, y de Máster universitario, o equivalente, siempre que se hayan superado, al menos, 300 créditos ECTS en el conjunto de estas dos enseñanzas..

2. Asimismo, podrá acceder quien se encuentre en alguno de los siguientes supuestos:

a) Estar en posesión de un título universitario oficial español o de otro país integrante del Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior, que habilite para el acceso al máster de acuerdo con lo establecido en el artículo 16 del RD 1393/2007, y superar un mínimo de 300 créditos ECTS en el conjunto de estudios universitarios oficiales, de los cuales por lo menos 60 deberán ser de nivel de máster .

b) Estar en posesión de un título oficial español de graduado o graduada, cuya duración, conforme normas de derecho comunitario, sea de por lo menos 300 créditos ECTS. Dichos titulados deberán cursar con carácter obligatorio los complementos de formación requeridos por el programa, excepto que el plan de estudios del correspondiente título de grado incluya créditos de formación en investigación equivalentes en valor formativo a los créditos en investigación procedentes de estudios de máster .

c) Los titulados universitarios que, tras obtener plaza en formación en la correspondiente prueba de acceso a plazas de formación sanitaria especializada, superen con evaluación positiva por lo menos dos años de formación de un programa para la obtención del título oficial de alguna de las especialidades en ciencias de la salud.

d) Estar en posesión de un título obtenido conforme a sistemas educativos extranjeros, sin necesidad de su homologación, tras la comprobación por la Universidad de que éste acredita un nivel de formación equivalente a la del título oficial español de máster universitario y que faculta en el país expedidor del título para el acceso a estudios de doctorado. Esta admisión no implicará, en ningún caso, la homologación del título previo del cual esté en posesión el interesado ni su reconocimiento para otros efectos que el del acceso a enseñanzas de doctorado.

e) Estar en posesión de otro título español de doctor obtenido conforme a anteriores ordenaciones universitarias.

f) Estar en posesión de un título universitario oficial que haya obtenido la correspondencia al nivel 3 del Marco Español de Cualificaciones para la Educación Superior, de acuerdo con el procedimiento establecido en el Real Decreto 967/2014, de 21 de noviembre, por el que se establecen los requisitos y el procedimiento para la homologación y declaración de equivalencia a titulación y a nivel académico universitario oficial y para la convalidación de estudios extranjeros de Educación Superior, y el procedimiento para determinar la correspondencia a los niveles del Marco Español de Cualificaciones para la Educación Superior de los títulos oficiales de Arquitecto, Ingeniero, Licenciado, Arquitecto Técnico, Ingeniero Técnico y Diplomado.

3. Los doctorandos que iniciaran su programa de doctorado conforme a anteriores ordenaciones universitarias podrán acceder a las enseñanzas de doctorado, luego de su admisión de acuerdo con el establecido en el Reglamento de estudos de doctorado de la USC. En todo caso deberán reunir los requisitos establecidos con carácter general en dicho Reglamento para acceder a los estudios de doctorado.

4. Podrán acceder a los estudios de doctorado los licenciados, arquitectos o ingenieros que posean el diploma de estudios avanzados obtenido de acuerdo con lo dispuesto en el Real decreto 778/1998, del 30 de abril, o alcancen la suficiencia investigadora regulada en el Real decreto 185/1985, del 23 de enero.

5. Podrán acceder a los estudios de doctorado los licenciados, arquitectos o ingenieros que posean un título de máster oficial conforme lo Real decreto 56/2005 o el Real decreto 1393/2007, modificado por el Real decreto 861/2010, o tengan superados 60 ECTS de estudios de máster oficial.

6. También podrán acceder los diplomados, ingenieros técnicos o arquitectos técnicos que acrediten tener 300 créditos ECTS superados en el conjunto de estudios universitarios oficiales, de los cuales, por lo menos 60, deberán ser de nivel de máster.

El programa de doctorado podrá extinguirse por alguna de las siguientes causas:

Que no supere el proceso de renovación de la acreditación establecido en el artículo 10 del RD 99/2011.

• Que no acredite el cumplimiento de los requisitos establecidos por la normativa estatal o autonómica vigente.

• Que se formule una propuesta de extinción del programa al amparo de los procesos de revisión y mejora del título de acuerdo con el procedimiento aprobado por la universidad.

• Que concurra cualquier situación excepcional que impida el correcto desarrollo del programa de doctorado.

La extinción producirá los siguientes efectos:

• Comportará la pérdida de su carácter oficial y la baja en el RUCT.

• No se podrá matricular nuevo alumnado en el programa de doctorado.

• En cualquier caso todo el alumnado afectado deberá ser informado de la extinción y de las consecuencias en lo relativo al desarrollo de sus estudios.

La Universidad adoptará las medidas necesarias para garantizar los derechos académicos del estudiantado que esté cursando dichos estudios en los términos establecidos en la resolución de extinción del plan de estudio, y aprobará el procedimiento de extinción de los programas de doctorado en el seno de la universidad.

The main objective of this Masters degree is to train professionals and researchers in aquaculture; professionals with a solid recognised training at job level and researchers whose training allows them to carry out their research, with cutting-edge technologies, while keeping abreast of problems in production processing.
